Grandma helped shield Matthew from the wind while we watched the girls at their "Kindersports" class at the YMCA this morning.
Sadly, Grandma had to go home today. I think Matthew is going to spend the next few days wondering, "where did that nice other-mommy-lady go??" Thanks for coming, Mom! It was a great week!!!

June 26, 2012 (Monday)
More little proto-smiles. I love love LOVE this picture! We put him on a blanket for some tummy time and he just made the sweetest face.
June 24, 2012 (Sunday)
Matthew was resting on a blanket in his bouncy seat when all of a sudden Grandma started talking in a seat nearby. He turned his head and gave a cute little proto-smile right in her direction!
June 23, 2012 (Saturday)
Matthew's favorite place to be this week: on Grandma's lap. (And his favorite thing to hear this week? "This is the Grandma. You WILL remember me..." :)
June 29, 2012 (Friday)
Sleeping in his car seat while Grandma treats the rest of the family to ice cream cones. Sorry, Matthew: maybe next year you can slather yourself sticky like everyone else.
June 19, 2012 (Tuesday)
All swaddled up in a baby cocoon courtesy of Daddy.
Today Grandma also came from Minnesota: baby is about to start a week full of great cuddles.
June 18, 2012 (Monday)
Cuddly and curious.
We're still anxiously waiting to see what color his eyes settle on. They look so blue some of the time, and so brown other times. (And sometimes surprisingly in between!)

The belly button finally fell off, so Matthew finally got to enjoy a real bath. (Which is good because with all the spitting up that goes on, he manages to hide little squishy beads of curdled milk in all sorts of crazy crevasses!)

June 8, 2012 (Friday)
There's just something fascinating about little tiny baby toes. The girls love touching them and so do I. Maybe it's because they're such perfect miniatures? Whatever the reason, they were definitely worth catching a photo of.
Speaking of feet, Matthew also had a doctor's appointment today. He weighed in at 8 lbs, 2 oz, but the big news is that we're finally in the clear for bilirubin levels: no more daily foot pricks! Hooray!

I put him down for a minute, turned around, and he had found his thumb. (Read: instant mommy-melting moment! :)
June 5, 2012 -- 6:30 am (Tuesday)
Sleeping as some summertime sunshine pours through the hospital window. First
full-day of life: here we come!
June 5, 2012 – 3:00…in the morning (Tuesday)
June 4, 2012 – 6:00 pm
Finally all cleaned up. After a busy day of beginning mortality, nothing feels quite as nice as a warm bath and a nap. (We thought it was neat they let the girls help with Baby’s first bath.)
June 4, 2012 – 5:00 pm
After a quiet afternoon with Mom, it’s time to meet the sisters. Welcome to the family, Little Brother!
June 4, 2012–About 1:00 pm
After Mommy monopolized Matthew for more than hour, the nurse finally got her hands on him. Now that he’s all rosy and awake, time to weigh him, measure him, and check all those nice baby reflexes.
June 4, 2012– a few minutes after 11:45 am
Hello World! One of Matthew’s very first photos--mere moments after being born. What a perfect little pink-purple bundle of baby-ness!
